Day 1:

Arrive in Rome
Upon exiting customs, you will be met by an Adventures by Disney representative who will escort you to your transfer vehicle. Relax as the driver assists with your luggage and escorts you to the Hotel Bernini Bristol.

Check into Hotel Bernini Bristol
Located in the heart of Rome, this gracious hotel was once visited by European royalty! Across the way is the Triton Fountain, created by the sculptor Bernini, and you are just steps away from the world-famous Via Veneto.

Welcome Reception and Dinner at Hotel
Meet the other families that will share the adventure! After a festive cocktail reception, gather together and enjoy your first of many mouthwatering Italian feasts.

Highlights of Rome Guided Tour
Learn the legends and relive the majesty of Rome's glorious past! Walk through history at the ancient Colosseum, the Forum and the Pantheon on a timeless journey your family will treasure forever.

Lunch at Rei degli Amici
Enjoy a leisurely lunch like the locals do. Break bread with your family and fellow travelers at an authentic Roman trattoria! Cap off your tour with a taste of heaven - Italian ice cream, called "gelato"!

Guided Walking Tour of Historic Rome
Follow an ancient road to the dazzling destinations in the city, from the famed Spanish Steps to the twinkling Trevi Fountain.

Dinner on Your Own
A marvelous meal is never far in Rome. Our Adventure Guides will be happy to make suggestions for a family feast to remember.

Day 3:

Vatican City Museum and Sistine Chapel
Guided by an entertaining expert, travel through 50 generations of art and civilization at the Vatican City Museum. Our privately-guided visit includes the wondrous Sistine Chapel - a sight your family will never forget.

Lunch and Afternoon in Rome
It's your Roman holiday! Browse chic shops along the Via Corso, discover priceless treasures in a museum or trek through time in the ancient city. This afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish.

Day 4:

Travel to Orvieto, Umbria
After breakfast, board a luxury motor coach to the glorious Tuscan countryside. Along the way, take an illuminating excursion to Orvieto, a medieval settlement crowned with a glorious Gothic cathedral!

Lunch and Shopping in Orvieto
Explore this charming village that seems frozen in time! Your Adventure Guides will be happy to make recommendations for a fabulous family afternoon.

Arrive at the Hotel Paggeria Medicea in Artimino*
Welcome to the enchanting Tuscan villa that will be your home for the next few days. Explore the grounds and take a swim - there's magic around every turn!
*Some departures stay at Appartamenti Nel Borgo Di Artimino.

Junior Adventurers Dinner
At the villa, kids cut loose at their own dinner party with their favorite foods. In the meantime, adults can enjoy a quiet evening dining at the resort restaurant.

Cuddle up and catch a classic Disney film in a storybook setting.

Pasta-Making Class
Learn the long-held secrets of this mouth-watering region. Get the family together for a private pasta-making lesson in a real Italian kitchen!

Al Fresco Lunch at Cooking School
After your lesson, feast on the fruits of your labor at a delicious picnic in the heart of Tuscany!

Afternoon at the Villa
Live "la dolce vita" at your villa's estate! Get the family together for a swim or a game of bocce ball! Gather with your fellow adventurers and taste handcrafted olive oils, or just bask in the Tuscan sun.

Tuscan Barbeque Dinner
Tonight, celebrate as you travel to a hillside villa for a traditional Tuscan barbeque dinner with entertainment for the whole family!

Travel to Florence
After breakfast at the villa, board a luxury motor coach for a picturesque ride to the breathtaking city of Florence.

Share the timeless treasures of the Renaissance on a privately-guided exploration designed to enchant travelers of all ages. Marvel at Michelangelo's "David" and the city's famed Duomo.

Lunch in Florence
With the assistance of your Adventure Guides, enjoy a pleasant family lunch at a sidewalk café or an authentic pizzeria on your own.

Afternoon in Florence
Walk through the pages of history and discover the beauty of this magical metropolis. Shop for treasures at a bustling marketplace or marvel at great works of art in magnificent museums. The afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish!

Dinner at the Villa
Tonight, celebrate your family's travels with dinner at the Borgo's incredible restaurant.

Day 7:

Eurostar Train to Venice
After a delightful breakfast at the villa, bid farewell to the countryside. Climb aboard the Eurostar train, recline in a first-class cabin and relax on your way to dazzling Venice!

Lunch on the Train
Gather everyone together and enjoy a leisurely lunch as the pastoral countryside sweeps by.

Gondola Tour
Upon your arrival in Venice, explore this "sinking" city where you travel by boat instead of car! You and your family are treated to an enchanting experience of exploring the canals from a gondola.

Piazza San Marco and Basilica
Bring history to life on a privately-guided, story-filled walking tour that illuminate the city's architectural treasures. Plus, you'll find a few surprises along the way!

Arrive at Hotel Dei Dogi
This five-star hotel has majestic chandeliers, enchanting frescoes and an internal garden!

Dinner on Your Own

Meet a renowned mask-maker who showcases her dazzling disguises in a special experience for Adventures by Disney Guests! Then, get in touch with your creative side and construct a masquerade masterpiece of your own!

Afternoon in Venice
Now is the time to share a Venetian afternoon with your family. Shop in dazzling boutiques, browse through treasures at a museum or just delight in getting lost in the charming winding streets of this enchanting city.

Farewell Dinner
Toast to the magnificent adventure you've shared with your family and newfound friends. With delectable Italian dishes, lively entertainment and a few Disney surprises, this party celebrates the adventure of a lifetime!

Day 9:

Breakfast at the Hotel
Bid farewell to all your fellow adventurers, and enjoy one last meal on the shores of Venice.

Transfers to Airport or Train Station
Relax and enjoy your final moments in Italy, as we handle your luggage and arrange for transportation to the airport. Say "arrivederci" to your fellow adventurers until you return again!

Is a passport required for this itinerary?
U.S. citizens will need a valid passport to enter Italy and return to the United States. The passport must be valid six months beyond the intended stay and have 1-2 blank pages remaining. Allow sufficient time to have the application processed if applying for a new passport or renewing an expired passport – refer to www.state.gov for further details. In addition, guests 17 years of age or younger may be required to show additional documentation when traveling with a single parent. Non-U.S. citizens should check with  their local government for information on documentation requirements.

Is a visa required to travel to this country?
U.S. citizens do not need a visa to travel to Italy. Non-U.S. citizens should check the Italian Embassy at www.ambwashingtondc.esteri.it for information on documentation requirements.

What airport do Guests fly in and out of?
Guests are picked up at Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO) in Rome on arrival day. Flights should arrive no later than 3:00 p.m. At the end of the adventure, Guests will transfer to Marco Polo Venice International Airport (VCE) for flights departing anytime after breakfast.

Are transfers included for arrivals or departures from different locations or at different times from the itinerary?
No. Transfers are only included from the specified arrival/departure airports and hotels.  For the Viva Italia trip, transfers are included from Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci International Airport (FCO) in Rome to the Bernini Bristol Palace Hotel on arrival day. On departure day, transfers are included from the Hotel Dei Dogi to the Marco Polo Venice International Airport (VCE).

Can the vacation extend beyond the Adventures by Disney itinerary?
Yes, Guests may stay in Italy before the itinerary. Extended stays are available at special rates if booked through Adventures by Disney Travel Services, Inc. in conjunction with a land package and cannot be combined with any other offer. Please contact us for further information.

How will the group travel between destinations?
During the adventure, Guests travel by motor coach and Eurostar train between destinations in Italy.

What is the climate like?
During the summer months, the weather in Italy is warm, with highs during the day at 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and around 60 degrees at night. You can expect sunshine and very little rainfall.

How strenuous are the activities?
While this adventure is not considered physically strenuous, most days will include two or more hours of city walking, often on uneven cobblestone streets. While nearly all of the trip’s featured activities are gentle if examined separately, the full range of activities requires a moderate amount of stamina in order to get the most of your vacation.

What is the basis for the suggested minimum age for this trip?
While Disney welcomes children ages 4 and up at the time of travel, it is recommended that children be at least 6 years old at the time of travel on the Viva Italia trip. This is based on several factors, such as flight time and jet lag, time zone differences in the destination, duration of the vacation, extended hours of daily activity programming and amount of physical activity (e.g., walking) involved. Because each child is different, please contact us to discuss whether this is the right trip for each child being considered.

What types of meals are served during this itinerary?
Typically, breakfast is served each morning in buffet style and offers a variety of dishes. Dinners and lunches usually include fish, meat, and pasta or rice entrées; vegetables and salad; and desserts and fruit. Some included meals on this trip are served buffet style while others offer a limited-choice menu. Given the nature of group travel, á la carte menu choices may not always be available.  Children-friendly choices are available at all meals. Menu items are subject to change due to the availability and seasonality of foods. In order to offer each Guest a bit of time to enjoy meals amongst themselves, there are some meals that are not included in the itinerary. These meals have been planned in towns or cities where there are plenty of options available.  For questions or concerns about dining at any time during the vacation, the Adventure Guides will be happy to assist.

Can special dietary needs be accommodated?
Adventures by Disney can accommodate some special dietary needs at no additional charge. Unfortunately, some special dietary needs requested may not be able to be accommodated. Please contact us in advance to advise of special needs prior to departure.

Is alcohol included?
Alcoholic beverages are typically not included with scheduled meals, however, they may be purchased at the Guests own expense.

Is this itinerary appropriate for travelers with special needs?
Please note that this vacation includes activities that present certain challenges to Guests with special needs. It is strongly recommended that persons requiring assistance be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing assistance. Neither Adventures by Disney nor its suppliers may physically lift or assist Guests onto transportation vehicles. Please contact us to discuss specific needs.

What is the local language and currency of Italy?
While the primary language of Italy is Italian, many people speak some English. The unit of currency in Italy is the Euro (EUR). U.S. dollars are not accepted at hotels, shops, or restaurants, but ATM machines are available in most places along your adventure to obtain cash in the local currency. Most hotels and restaurants accept major credit cards or debit cards in addition to travelers checks. Adventure Guides can help with any currency issues or language barriers.

Are tips included?

• Adventures by Disney has taken care of certain tips and gratuities for all included meals and activities such as tips for porters, housekeepers, drivers, activity providers, local experts, and dining room staff for included meals.
• On Your Own Dining Gratuities: When eating at a restaurant, a gratuity is usually included in the bill.  However, Guests who feel they have received exceptional service, may leave an additional gratuity. Many choose to simply “round up.”
• Adventure Guide Gratuities: Gratuities for Adventures Guides are not included. For Guests who feel that their Adventure Guides have provided excellent service, the following discretionary gratuity is suggested : Per Guest/Per Adventure guide/Per Day - $5-$8 USD.  Adventure Guides accept local currency, U.S. dollars, and travelers’ checks.

What if Adventures by Disney cancels the adventure prior to departure?
Adventures by Disney reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an adventure at any time for any reason, such as if there are too few Guests or if the quality of the trip or the safety of the Guests would, in Disney’s opinion, be compromised, such as from unforeseen circumstances (acts of God) or other circumstances beyond Adventures by Disney's control.

• If air is purchased through Adventures by Disney Travel Services, Inc., Disney will attempt to re-book for another departure of the same adventure during the same season, subject to availability, and Disney will bear any resulting airline re-booking charges. If unable to re-book on another departure, a full refund of all payments that had been made to Disney for the canceled adventure will be issued, including land package, airfare and Vacation Protection Plan (unless you have filed a claim), which refund shall constitute a full settlement.
• If air is not purchased through Adventures by Disney Travel Services, Inc., and Disney cancels an adventure prior to its scheduled start date, Disney will attempt to re-book for another departure of the same adventure during the same season, subject to availability; however, the Guest will bear any resulting airline re-booking charges. If unable to re-book on another departure, Disney’s sole obligation is to refund payment received for the land portion and Vacation Protection Plan (unless you have filed a claim), which refund shall constitute a full settlement. Disney assumes no responsibility for any losses incurred by you on account of non-refundable air tickets or otherwise.

• Parties of three in Tuscany are accommodated in one room with one king bed and one twin bed or rollaway, or three twin beds, or two twin beds and one rollaway.
• Parties of four booked as a quad:
  • In Rome, quads are accommodated in two connecting rooms, each having either two twin beds or one queen bed.
  • In Tuscany, quads are accommodated in one room having one king bed and either two twin beds or two rollaways.
  • In Venice, quads are accommodated in two connecting rooms, each having either one queen bed or two twin beds.
• Parties of four booked as two doubles are accommodated in two rooms, each having either two twin beds or one queen bed.
• Connecting rooms may be requested in Rome only.
